Abstract
The current study aimed to Idenfy the level societal awareness of autism spectrum disorder in Al-Jouf region in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, prepared a questionnaire for this purpose that includes two axes: awareness of the causes of autism spectrum disorder, and the second axis is awareness of the characteristics and symptoms characteristic of it, the tool was applied to a sample of members of the community Al-Jouf region reached (360 individuals). the study used the survey method. The results resulted in a significant decrease in the degree of awareness of autism. There are no differences in the degree of awareness according to gender, while there are differences according to the nature of work in favor of the category of faculty members, and there are differences according to the age group in favor of the younger age group in the sample members. The study was concluded with some recommendations and suggested studies.
