Abstract

The current study aimed to evaluate mathematics learning in high school projects. By using the descriptive approach to the study sample consisting of three categories, as follows: A sample of female high school mathematics teachers in Buraidah its included (70) teacher, a sample of female high school students in Buraidah its included (80) Student, and a sample of math projects produced from high school students in Buraidah its included (15) project. The researcher prepared three tools to achieve the objectives of the study: a questionnaire that directed at mathematics teachers at the secondary school in order to identify the reality of the teachers ’use of projects in teaching mathematics and the reality and obstacles of their students’ of use it. An interview card with high school students to identify the reality and obstacles to doing projects in learning mathematics, Evaluation card for mathematics projects prepared by high school students to aim of learning about the reality of mathematics projects produced by high school students. And the study reached the following results:

- Teachers' use of project-based learning appeared in Secondary school mathematics on average rate , and the project evaluation stage was the lowest among the project stages.

- Students' use of project-based learning appeared in Secondary school mathematics on average rate .and the project evaluation stage was the lowest among the project stages.

- Both the teacher and the student face obstacles to learning mathematics with projects, the most prominent of which was from the point of view teachers " curriculum intensity " then "Difficulty in evaluating projects" then "Project learning training is insufficient", And from the point of view student difficulty to choose the project.

- The Mathematics projects produced by high school students appeared low.

In light of the results of the study a number of recommendations and proposed studies were presented.
