Abstract

The aim of the research is to investigate the effect of different scaffold types in the personal learning environment on developing the skills of e-learning management systems among students of the College of Education, King Faisal University. The research used the quasi-experimental approach. The research sampled consisted of some students from the College of Education at King Faisal University. The research used a questionnaire and an achievement test. The results concluded that there is an effect of different scaffold types in the personal learning environment on students' academic achievement. The research recommended that undergraduate students should be trained to learn using the personal learning environment, taking into account the methods of interaction among students, and with their teachers. The research also recommended the necessity of developing and using personal learning environments to include all academic courses using both types of learning scaffold so they could acquire the necessary skills to become a distinguished learner.
