The present study aimed at exploring the role of the quality of family life as a mediating variable in the relationship between intellectual security and One-Track Mindedness, identifying the relationship between intellectual security and family quality of life and One-Track Mindedness, and identifying the differences in intellectual security, the quality of family life and One-Track Mindedness according to gender and specialization. The measures of the quality of family life (Abdul-Wahab and Shend, 2010), intellectual security of youth (El Keshky & Al-Otaibi, 2017), and One-Track Mindedness (Othman, 2007) were applied to the study’s sample of 860 Saudi university students. The results showed that the most prevalent dimension of the quality of family life was applied to the dimensions of physical ability and health safety; the study sample was characterized by a low level of One-Track Mindedness. Statistically positive significant correlation between the quality of family life and intellectual security, and negative correlations between One-Track Mindedness and both the quality of family and intellectual security were found. There was a positive effect on the quality of family life as a mediating variable of the relationship between intellectual security and One-Track Mindedness. The study found a statistically significant differences in the quality of family life due to gender in favor of females. The results showed no statistically significant differences in intellectual security and One-Track Mindedness according to gender; or in quality of family life, intellectual security, and One-Track Mindedness according to specialization. As a result, the study recommended psychological counseling centers in universities to develop programs and plans that enable students to develop Multi-Track Mindedness and to coexist with the other university students.
