Abstract
This study aimed to discover the degree of teaching competencies among social studies teachers in Jordan during the Corona pandemic. The study sample consisted of 68 social studies teachers from the governorates of Ma'an. Data were collected through a questionnaire that the researchers developed and verified for validity and reliability. Additionally, eight male and female teachers from the study sample were interviewed. The results showed that the teaching competencies of social studies teachers were at a moderate level, and there was a negative impact of distance learning on their teaching competencies during the Corona pandemic. In light of these results, the researchers recommended conducting training courses to develop the teaching competencies of social studies teachers after the end of the Corona pandemic.
