Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the role of physical education lessons in developing the psychosocial growth of female students practicing track and field. A sample of 61 students was randomly selected from schools in the Kasabet Amman directorate. After verifying the validity and reliability of the sample, the researcher applied the study tool. The study tool consisted of 21 items distributed across four themes: the importance of the material and its benefits, psychological aspects, family aspects, and the role of the teacher. The researcher employed the descriptive method in the survey to collect and analyze data. The study showed the following results: There is no direct relationship between physical education lessons and the psychosocial development of female athletes. Psychological problems are among the most significant obstacles to practicing physical education. Parents of female athletes are interested in sports news but do not engage in sports themselves. The most important recommendation was to focus on activating physical education in a serious manner by teachers, using various strategies in physical education lessons due to its positive impact on the psychosocial behavior of female athletes and the enhancement of their social relationships.
