Abstract
This study aimed to identify the impact of an early intervention program based on distance training for mothers in improving the social and language skills of children with intellectual disabilities. To achieve this aim, a sample of 30 children aged between 4 and 6 years was selected and divided into two groups: an experimental group with 15 children and a control group with 15 children. The Social Skills Scale and the Language Skills Scale, both of which had their psychometric characteristics validated, were used, along with the training program. The study results indicated significant differences between the means of the experimental and control groups regarding social skills and language skills after implementing the distance training program, favoring the experimental group. However, there were no significant differences between the means of the experimental group's grade ranks on the Social Skills Scale and the Language Skills Scale after implementing the program and the traceability scale. The study results demonstrated the efficacy of the early intervention program based on distance training for mothers in improving social and language skills. The researchers recommend adopting the early intervention program for distance training of mothers to enhance the social and language skills of children with intellectual disabilities, as well as activating the role of families in training and education.
