Abstract

This study aimed to identify the social responsibility of faculty members at the universities of Irbid Governorate and its relationship to their job performance from the students' perspective. The study adopted a relational descriptive approach, and the researchers developed a questionnaire that included two sections: the first measured the social responsibility of faculty members at the universities in Irbid Governorate, while the second measured their job performance. The study population consisted of 64,450 male and female students, and the sample included 687 students selected using a convenient sampling method. The results indicated that the degree of social responsibility among faculty members at the universities in Irbid Governorate, from the students' perspective, was rated as high. The findings revealed statistically significant differences in the social responsibility scale based on the variable of university type, favoring private universities. Additionally, the results showed that the degree of job performance of faculty members, from the students' perspective, was also rated as high, with statistically significant differences in the job performance measure attributed to the variable of university type, again favoring private universities. Furthermore, a positive statistically significant relationship was found between the degree of social responsibility practice and the level of job performance. The researchers recommend holding awareness seminars for faculty members to enhance the practice of social responsibility and link that practice to job performance.
