Abstract

The study aimed to identify the degree of commitment of school principals in the Directorate of Education of Irbid Qasabah to the code of professional behavior and its relationship to job satisfaction among teachers from their perspective. The descriptive survey method was employed, with a questionnaire serving as the tool for data collection and analysis. The questionnaire was administered to a sample of 360 male and female teachers, selected using a simple random sampling method. The results indicated that the degree of commitment of school principals in the Directorate of Irbid Qasabah to the code of professional behavior was high. Additionally, the level of job satisfaction among schoolteachers in Irbid Qasabah was found to be medium. A statistically significant moderate positive correlation (α = 0.05) was identified between the degree of commitment of school principals to the code of conduct and its related fields, on one hand, and the measure of job satisfaction and its domains, on the other hand. In light of these findings, the researchers recommend that the competent authorities in the Ministry of Education continue to conduct training courses focused on promoting the concept of a code of professional conduct for school principals. They should also work toward implementing this code in various aspects of school operations and ensure that principals create a supportive and stimulating educational environments for all teachers, which contributes to achieving the school's mission and vision and encourages teachers to be loyal and dedicated to their work.
