Abstract

Linguistics Ideas in the Preface (Almokademeh) of Ibn Khaldon This paper deals with a number of linguistic and grammatical thoughts by Ibn Khaldon in 'he introduction' which contains a number of such thoughts as competence, language acquisition from society, weakness of competence by contact with non-natives, discussing the linguistic scene at this time and the weakness it suffered. He focused on the term Arab (tongue) and differentiated between the two forms (language and grammar). He also mentioned the reasons behind the rise of Arabic grammar, causes of its weakness and other issues.
