This study aims at evaluating spelling performance of Tabouk Teachers' College stu-dents. For this purpose, a diagnostic test in spelling is prepared. It has 50 items testing four spelling issues: 1- glottal stop (hamza)
2- Soft /a/ (alef layenah)
3- Rounded /hi (ta' marbutah) and spread /t/ (ta' maftooha)
4- Omitting and adding letters as well as connecting words.
The research tool is implemented on a sample of 147 students from the 6th and 7th levels. These students are from Arabic Language Dept., Quran Studies Dept., Science Dept., and Mathematics Dept. After correcting the test and finishing statistical treatments, it is shown that the average of the students' performance in spelling is 62.35 %. This record is below educational standard. The differences between the two averages are statistically significant (0.05). To upgrade the spelling performance of Teachers' Colleges students, the study lists a set of recommendations that may contribute to improving and developing the educational process generally, and improving the spelling performance of Teachers' Colleges students in particular
