Abstract
The following research deals with a very fundamental problematic related to interculturalism; classical and modern. What is understandable from interculturalism is mutural in- fluence between the elements of culture in Arabic literature and those of the Western literature in the domain of criticism. The existing dialogue between human cultures. summarizes the factors of convergence between the cultures especially at the level of academic theories. Eventually, modern Arabic literary studies took a great deal from western studies mostly in approaches since the westen were forerunners in fouding scientific approaches in different domains. Arab critics were influenced by these western approaches due to the openess greatly noticed in literary criticism. As a consequence the identity of the proposed studies is put into question or perhaps the fear of being outrooted off heritage Through certain types, this research tries to create proposals to converge the proposals of heritage criticism with those of modern critcism. The research will deal with different points amongst - theoretical background. - Classical Arabic criticism and the topic of interculturalism. - Structutalism and the differentiating factor in literary criticism. - Post-structuralism theories and the problematic of modern criticism - A conclusion including the main findings. What is meant is to find out the factorr to root what is existant in the field of criticism relating to our heritage and the intruder.
