Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the role of the Deanship of Preparatory Programs at Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in the construction of national identity among its students, and whether the role of the Deanship of Preparatory Programs varies depending on the study sample estimates according to different variables (sex, academic track). The study sample consisted of (N= 500) students from the Deanship of Preparatory programs’ students (male and female) at Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University. The descriptive method was used. The tool of the study consisted of (40) items, distributed into three variables (the value of belonging, the values of the rights and duties, and community participation). The reliability and validity of the tool was verified. Results of the study showed that there was a significant role of the Deanship of Preparatory Programs in the construction of the national identity among its students where the values averages of the tool variables ranged between (4.20.- 4.5). The value of belonging ranked first, followed by the value of the rights and duties and the value of participation. The results also showed that there was no statistically significant differences at the level of (α = 05,0), between the students’ estimates of the role of the Deanship of Preparatory Programs in the construction of national identity due to the variables of sex and the academic track.
