Abstract
This research deals with the rhetorical assertion in Surah Ash-Shu'ara by studying the methods, in which the rhetorical assertion is mentioned in this surah and its relationship with the connotation. The research is based on two aspects; an introductory aspect in which I explained the concept of assertion and defined Surah Ash-Shu'ara- the subject of the study-, and a practical aspect in which I indicated the styles and methods of assertion which are contained in this Surah, where I indicated verbal and moral assertion, the assertion by particles which signify assertion; such as (‘inna) and (qād), the assertion by oath, particles that denote oath, the assertion by additional particles, the assertion by the restriction style, the assertion by unrestricted object and other styles.
The research revealed the role of this style in the dialogue that occurred between prophets and their people and its importance in revealing the hidden connotations of verses and reflected the impact of the rhetorical assertion on the receiver, the research has also shown that the rhetorical assertion has different styles and methods, which are provided depending on the status of the receiver.
