Abstract

The study dealt with the spatial and temporal change of the population in Zarqa city in terms of growth and population distribution, the study relied on the official census data for the years 2004 and 2015, to show the changes in the growth and distribution of the population. The study used several statistical methods to measure population growth rate, population density and relative population concentration, and to construct point and cadastral maps using GIS. The study reached a number of results, the most important of which is that the city of Zarqa has seen an increase in the population in 2015 compared to 2004, and there is a kind of irregularity in the distribution of the population in Zarqa city. Also raster and cadastral maps showed a significant increase in population densities in the center of Zarqa city
