The Level of Psychological Anxiety among a Sample of Secondary School Students in Jordan in Light of the Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19)

Abstract

The current study aimed to identify the level of psychological anxiety among a sample of secondary school female students in Jordan in light of the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID -19) , the study sample consisted of (122) female students, a scale has been develpoed for the study, it is the Pyschological Anxiety Scale, also the psychometric properties of the scale have been verified.The results of the study revealed that there is an above-average level of psychological anxiety for secondary school female students in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in light of the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID -19) and there are statistically significant differences for psychological anxiety on cognitive anxiety and social anxiety due to the category of younger secondary school students (Age Variable),and there are statistically significant differences for psychological anxiety on cognitive anxiety, social anxiety and the overall score of the scale in general due to the category of secondary school students for the scientific branch(Academic Branch Variable).The researcher also recommended the importance of paying attention to the secondary school students especially in light of the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).
