Abstract

The study aimed at describing and analyzing the listening skills in two series of books that teach Arabic for other speakers, are (Al-Kitaab fii Ta’llum al-Arabiyya, Arabic between Your Hands), the study adopted the descriptive analytical approach using the content analysis method, and the analysis card has been prepared Contained (69) listening skills according to the guidelines of American council for teaching foreign languages (ACTFL) divided into five levels, which is: (27) skill novicee level, (14) intermediate-level skills, (12) advanced level skills, (11) skills for the superior level, and (4) skills for the distinguished level, the study showed a set of results, the most important of which are: The total listening skills included in the book series in al-kitaab fii ta’llum al-arabiyya reached (464), while it reached (308) skill in Arabic between your Hands, It is also clear that the repetition of listening skills has been high in the first levels, the higher the level is, the less training in listening skills needs, this is proportional to the acquisition of language learners from other speakers of the language at the beginning of their learning
