Abstract

The literature has a major role in discussing human issues, society and life in general so it appears from novels a style, which concerns in creating special worlds and other worlds, which are dark and disordered. One, which is based on complete hope and the other, which is based on despair and pessimism but the motivation of writing in both of them, is the feeling of social responsibility and problems. Dystopia starts predominating the Arab novel and the novel “In mice’s road” for the writer Ahmad Khaled Tawfik is considered one of the dystopian novels and it is classified under the horror, fantasy and science fiction literature. In this novel, the writer concentrates on injustice, poverty, corruption, ignorance, dehumanization, and the society which turned into a group of mutants fighting each other as very important social issues in our Arab societies, which live in contradictions, and bad social and political issues, which look for freedom and human values. The importance of studying dystopian novels revolves around criticizing reality and foreseeing the future, in addition to trying to understand and explain life and the dialectical relationship between power of all kinds and the masses, as it links the elements of time; past, present and future. This article is trying to read and analyses narratively vision in Ahmad Khalid Tawfik’s novel as dystopian novel, which concentrates on special issues and political conditions for Arab countries specially the developing countries. This study shows normativity novel assign and on the other hand the writer’s interest and his ideology, which concerns towards the society and his responsibility towards its issues. The study highlights the features of the rotten city that were reflected on the physiognomy of humans
