Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify the level of leadership styles prevalent among the principals of public schools affiliated with the Directorate of Education for the first Zarqa District, and to identify the level of performance of its employees, in addition to revealing whether there is a correlation between the leadership styles prevalent among the principals of public schools affiliated with the Directorate of Education for the first Zarqa District and the performance of their employees, by relying on the analytical descriptive approach, through a questionnaire that was distributed to the study sample members, which consisted of teachers working in public schools affiliated to the Directorate of Education for the First Zarqa District, who numbered (292) teachers. For the purpose of analyzing the data and answering the study questions, descriptive statistics methods were used, represented by arithmetic means and standard deviations, in addition to using the Pearson correlation coefficient. The study found the dominance of the democratic style among public school principals affiliated to the Directorate of Education for the first Zarqa District from the teachers' point of view, and the high level of performance of its employees, also, the study found a correlation between the leadership styles prevalent among school principals and the performance of school staff. The study recommended directing public school principals to work on adopting leadership styles that contribute to pushing teachers towards performing the tasks assigned to them with the highest levels of efficiency and effectiveness, which contributes to achieving the goals of the educational institution
