Abstract
The graphic design, especially the billboards installed on the fronts of shops, public and private buildings, and columns, is considered one of the creative arts due to its wide spread among societies and its different layers and complementary to human activities and in keeping with the industrial and commercial development that resulted in artistic production that is characterized by creativity and innovation in a conscious spirit with aesthetic values for the purpose of Achieving the goal and the goal, which is an activity or product in accordance with general and beneficial principles to achieve an end, and it should generate aesthetic effects that are intended to enhance the functional goal of the designed subject. And billboards are publications designed in order for people to understand them at a quick glance, combining focused visual effects, short but with a direct impact and the ability to attract attention and attention, and for that the billboards should maintain clarity and distinction, and express the idea in a simplified and intense composition in every part of it. And the connection of advertising with the audience requires a direct link to the social environment in which the enthusiasm of the masses ignites, and the appropriate place for the birth of advertising thinking. effect on him. The spread of billboards and advertising banners according to their occasions and dates of display, and the filling of streets and squares, and it has become a visual pollution because of its distance from the importance that imposes its existence because of its semantic distance from shape and color, and sometimes content that does not converge with the advertising idea. About the design idea related to public taste and what is determined by the authorities responsible for its spread and limitation, in contrast to what we find in some areas that determine the level of their cultures near the artistic and cultural centers. As for the justifications that made the researcher do this study, they are the degree of development and sophistication in the design, production and installation of billboards in the world. In addition to the importance of these billboards that reflect the civilized face of the city of Salt, especially since the city is frequented by many foreign visitors.The researcher focused on the importance of this topic in the Jordanian city of Salt, because of this city’s cultural and historical importance and a legacy to be reckoned with. 2018-2021 The study came out with several results, and at the conclusion of the study, the researcher recommended a set of recommendations.
