The Poetic Image in the Poetry of ‎Tarfa Ibn Al-Abd: Its Subject and ‎Source

Abstract

This study attempts to uncover Tarfa Ibn al- ' Abd's thought and artistic vision of his ‎surroundings. Since poetic image can lead us to examine the emotional experiences within the ‎poet's soul, we have chosen to consult the subjects through which poetic images were ‎created, and to consult the resources that helped to build up those images; the treatment of ‎the subjects of images and their resources leads us to find out the meanings that preoccupied ‎the poet, meanings which he certainly experienced and lived through actual life and milieu. It ‎is hoped that the study of the subject through this approach paves the way to uncover the ‎qesthetic and artistic values implied within the poet's thought and vision
