Abstract

The present study aimed to identify thetechnical and technological difficulties faced by thefaculty members of Al - Quds Open University in theuse of Academic Portal. It also aimed to examinethe significance of the differences between the meandegree of the difficulty according to the variablesof gender, college, professional status, years ofexperience and educational qualifications.To achieve the objectives of the study, the studytool ,after confirming its reliability and validity,was applied on a sample of 185 faculty members,selected by a stratified sample manner , from all theteaching branches of Al - Quds Open Universityfaculty members (Bethlehem, Hebron, Dura, andYatta) through the second semester of the academicyear 2014/ 2015.The results showed that the degree oftechnological and technical difficulties faced byfaculty members of Al - Quds Open University inthe use of the Academic Portal came in generalmedium. It turns out that the field of "technologicaland technical difficulties" came in first place,followed by the field of "obstacles to use,". Resultsalso show a statistically significant differences at (α≤ 0. 05) between the mean degree of technologicaland technical difficulties faced by faculty membersof Al - Quds Open University in the use of AcademicPortal according to college variable in favor of thecolleges of education, management and agricultureand according to the variable of professional statusin favor of full - time faculty members, Whereas thedifferences were not significant according to thevariables of gender and years of experience.
