Abstract

New test-statistic for testing exponentiality against overall decreasing life class of life distributions in moment generating functionODLmgf, based on U-statistic is studied. Selected critical values are tabulated for sample size n = 5(5)50. The Pitman asymptotic relative efficiencies (PARE) are studied for other testes. The power of the test is estimated by simulation. The problem in case of right-censored data is also handled, and the power estimates of this test are also simulated for some commonly used distributions in reliability. Finally, real data are given to elucidate the use of the proposed test statistic for complete and incomplete data in the reliability analysis.
