Abstract
In this study, we propose a Cumulative Sum control chart for monitoring shift in the shape parameter of the Pareto distribution when the scale parameter is known. The V-mask method of constructing Cumulative Sum control chart was employed together with the Sequential Probability Ratio Test. We investigated the features of the V-mask, and observed that the lead distance, the mask angle and the Average Run Length of the Cumulative Sum control chart changed considerably given a small shift in the shape parameter of the Pareto distribution.
