Abstract
In this paper, a modified generalized chain regression cum ratio estimator for population mean in the presence of nonresponse has been proposed and its properties have been studied. A comparative study of the proposed estimator has been carried out with the relevant estimators and the optimum values of n′ , n and k have been obtained for the fixed cost C ≤ C0. For the several suitable choice of the constant a, the proposed estimator is found to be more efficient than the relevant estimators. The empirical and theoretical studies also justify the efficiency of the proposed estimator in comparison to the relevant estimators.
