Abstract
The study aimed to identify the role of Jordanian television programs in raising awareness of mental health from the perspective of psychiatrists. The sample of the study was composed of 153 members from the Jordanian Association of Psychiatrists affiliated with the Jordanian Medical Association. To achieve the goal of this study, the descriptive approach was followed, and the study relied on the questionnaire as a tool for collecting data. The results of the study showed that the role of Jordanian television programs in raising awareness about mental health from the Perspective of psychiatrists was medium, and the diversity of features and characteristics of the topics presented in Jordanian television programs related to mental health from the perspective of psychiatrists was at a moderate level. The study recommends the Jordanian television channels to pay more attention about how to present information related to mental health in simple ways that attract the attention of the target audience and place mental health issues among the priorities of the agendas of Jordanian media institutions.
