Abstract
This study aimed to explain the concept of digital transformation and analyze the most important characteristics and features of digital transformation. This study also dealt with explaining the concept of financial technology and its relationship to digital transformation. This research used the descriptive approach to analyze the impact of the role of digital transformation in achieving sustainable development, while shedding light on some of the experiences of African countries in the use of digital transformation within the banking sector. It also sought to answer the problem of the study, which was represented in the following question: To what extent have African countries succeeded in using digital transformation in order to achieve sustainable development in the field of banking services? This study was divided into three main axes: The first axis dealt with the theoretical framework of the concept of digital transformation and financial technology, and the second axis dealt with the impact of the role of digital transformation in achieving sustainable development. The third axis shed light on the experiences of some African countries in using digital transformation in providing banking services, and the study reached the benefits of using digital transformation. In developing banking services within African countries, the study also recommended the need to activate cooperation between African countries and each other to benefit from their successful experiences in the field of digital technology, and to encourage the banking sector within African countries to pay continuous attention to everything related to the field of financial technology.
