Abstract

The architectural characteristics of the Al -Qaiti palaces in Hadramout are one of the important topics that must be addressed to promote the architectural values and principles in those buildings and include them to the modern architectural style that expresses the architectural identity of the region. This study was divided into an introduction, analytical study, results and recommendations. The introduction included the research problem, the importance, objectives and methodology of research and the theoretical framework that included a historical overview of Hadramout and the history of the Sultanate of Al -Qaiti. In addition, a detailed and analytical explanation of the palaces of Al -Qaiti and all their architectural characteristics of distinguished walls, entrances, courtyards, openings of all kinds, columns, ceilings as well as wooden balconies were highlighted. The study was concluded with a presentation of the most important results of the Qaiti palaces on Hadramout coast.
