Abstract
The subject of the study is related to the textual city, which represents a partial narrative shadow of the real city. The study is based on the hypothesis, "All forms of groups within the Syrian city during the Baath Party rule lack cohesion and order"! Thus, the aim of the study was to seek, prove or deny this hypothesis. To achieve this purpose, the study used the tools of the sociological approach and cultural criticism to reveal the biases inherent in the texts. As a result, the hypothesis has been accepted and the need to differentiate between two types of societies: communities of power and communities of order has been recommended for further steps and studies.
