The phenomenon of Speech Acts in Popular Literature: A Deliberative Approach for “Sindibad’s Trips”

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the pragmatics in the popular literature, by the speech acts in Sindibad’s trips. This study has followed the speech acts, and display its illocutionary force, accredited on Searle’s division for the types of the five verbs: Assertives, Directives, Commessives, Declarations, and Expressives by displaying speech models and analyzing it.
