The Topics and Values in Children’s Poetry: Suleiman Issa as an Example.

Abstract

We divided our research into two parts: a theoretical part and an applied part. As for the theoretical section, it dealt with the concept of children's poetry and showed the general principles that must be taken into account, namely the educational, psychological and linguistic principles. It also highlighted the importance of the topics that the poet seeks to instill into the hearts of his readers. Then we touched on the experience of the poet Suleiman Al-Issa in this field, and we pointed out the reasons that prompted him to write this type of poetry.

As for the applied section, we presented the prominent topics dealt with in the Diwan and classified them according to specific values. We took various samples of poems that shed light on the values advocated by Suleiman Al-Issa and concluded the section by presenting our findings, emphasizing the prominent impact that children's poetry has on the educational process.
