Al Jinan الجنان

Abstract

The Crusader movement was initiated upon the invitation of Pope Urban II during the Council of Clermont in France in the year 1095 AD (488 AH). Initially conceived as a response to the call for Jihad in the Islamic world, it quickly transformed into a movement led by the Islamic resistance against the Crusaders. This resistance was headed by leaders such as Nur al-Din Mahmoud Zangi, who played a pivotal role in organizing the Jihad movement and the Arab Islamic resistance.

Salah al-Din's generation, motivated by the desire to liberate the holy city from the Crusaders, remained steadfast in its determination. The generation fought relentlessly to achieve this goal, refusing the idea of abandoning it. However, subsequent generations, who found the liberated city without significant challenge, faced less resistance. For them, it was relatively easy to hand over control of the city to the Crusaders.
