Abstract
The adoption of the Arab Charter on Human Rights in 2004, the establishment of a mechanism for it represented by the Charter Committee and the adoption of a statute of the Arab Court of Human Rights in 2014 are of utmost importance; the existence of an Arab document that talks about human rights and freedoms cannot be protected without adopting a mechanism that ensures the proper application by States parties of the provisions of this document, which may be a quasi-judicial or judicial mechanism. Otherwise, the human rights system cannot be characterized as a system for the protection of the rights it contains without these mechanisms. This is true of the Arab human rights system because of the Arab political regimes’ obsession with the existence of a mechanism that enables the individual to be a peer to his government in front of those mechanisms when his rights are violated; so, to reform that system research in the approved regional mechanisms for the protection of human rights, it was necessary to reach the appropriate model represented by the mechanisms of the American system for the protection of human rights, as a suitable model for the application of the reality of mechanisms of The Arab system for human rights.
