Departed Lebanese Women Studied the Science of Qira’at

Abstract

This research highlights the major contributions of the female reciters Fatima bint Al-Younini Al-Ba'albakiya from the eighth century Hijri, and from the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries of the Hijra, the reciter Bushra bint Muhammad Amin Al-Munasafi Al-Beiruti Al-Saydaawiya, and Fadia bint Atef Afara Al-Saydaawiya, may Allah have mercy on them all and elevate their status. Since the science of Quranic readings is among the noble sciences associated with the Quran, it sparked my interest to trace the path and explore the lives of eminent Lebanese women who received this knowledge from my country, thereby bridging between Qur’anic readings and History. Hence, this research was conducted.
