Abstract

Private universities in Lebanon play a unique and significant role in cultural development. They offer diverse educational opportunities and complement the scientific specializations of public universities. This unique dynamic fosters a competitive environment that enhances the overall quality of education and cultivates students' cultural growth, preparing them for professional careers in their chosen fields. This study aimed to investigate the impact of private universities on student culture, focusing on their importance and influence within the student community. It highlighted these institutions' commitment to enriching students' cultural experiences, equipping them for future employment. The research employed a descriptive, analytical, and survey-based methodology to examine the cultural environment on campus, centering on Jinan University, a prominent private institution in North Lebanon. The data collected from a random sample of 426 students at Jinan University yielded significant findings. The institution provides a broad array of cultural resources that enhance the cultural experiences of most students. However, the findings also highlighted a gap in students' awareness and utilization of the cultural support available through the university's various cultural initiatives. This underscores the crucial need for the university administration and faculty to prioritize fostering student awareness and engagement with these cultural resources.
