Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the difficulties and problems that face drama and theater students at Yarmouk University. The population of the study included all drama and theater students in the Faculty of Fine Arts for the academic year 2013-2014, whose number was 270 male and female students who were randomly selected. The researcher used a questionnaire that consists of 45 items distributed on a three dimensions: the religious, the social and the academic dimensions. Each dimension includes 15 item of the overall questionnaire. The present researcher has conducted reliability and validity correlation for the questionnaire, where it scored 0.86, thus registering an acceptable percent suitable for academic research. The results have revealed some difficulties with a high level for drama and Fine Arts students in general and for drama and theater students in particular. The researcher recommended that much care should be given to solve such problems that face students of drama and theater at Yarmouk University in their scientific and practical lives. Also, he recommended holding workshops in these areas to increase the awareness of the civil community about the significance of drama for both the individual and community, as well.
