Abstract

The study aimed at investigating students' views of Faculties of Arts in the Jordanian Universities Need in the Inclusion of theSubject National Educationin light of the variables of gender and the studying level in the first semester2015/2016.To achieve the objective of the study, a questionnaire which included (45) items was administered and distributed to four domains: the political security, intellectual security, social security and economic security. The study sample consisted of (443) male and female students. The results of the study showed that the degree of faculties of arts students' need in the inclusion of the national securityconcept in thesubject of National Education in the Jordanian universities was high. Meanwhile the concepts of intellectual domain were the highest degree, followed by the concepts of political domain. The concepts of the social domain ranked third, followed by then theconcepts of the economic security which came in the last rank. There are no statistically significant differences in students' response regarding the degree of their need in the inclusion of national security concepts in the subject of National Education in the tool as a whole, attributed to the variables of gender and studying level. In light of the results, the researchers recommended reviewing the plans of the National Education subject in the universities and faculties to include the national security in planning, implementation and evaluation, together with concentrating on the intellectual and political security in light of globalization challenge.
