Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the common brain dominance (BD) and lateral preference (LP) among physical education students at Kadoorieuniversity and determine the relationship between (BD) and (LP), in addition to determine the differences in (BD)patternand (LP)according to gender and academic specialization variables. To achieve that the study was conducted on a random sample that consisted of (112) maleand female students. to gather data, the researchers used (Diane, 2005) scalefor measuring (BD)and (Kashihara, 1979)scale for measuring (LP).The results revealed that the common pattern of (BD) for the students was integrated brain hemisphere dominance and their pattern of (LP) was right lateral.Also, therewere statistically significant differences in (BD) according toacademic specializationvariable in favor of the diploma, and no significant relationship between (BD) and (LP).The researchersrecommended to interest in the development of physical education curricula in Palestinian universities and schools.
