Abstract
This study aimed to recognize the contribution of mental toughness in competitive behavioramongswimmers, the study was conducted on a sample of(12)male and (14) female from the Jordaniannational swimmersteam, to collect data was used mental toughness scalefor(James Loehr, 1986) and competitive behavior scalefor (Harris, 1984), The results showed that mental toughnesshas a relation with the competitive behavior and havea high percentage contribution (90%) in it amongJordanianswimmers, the researcher recommended to development the psychological aspects of swimmers as the physical, skills,tactical and knowledge in the training programs to enhance the level of mental toughness because of their impact on the positive behavior during the competitions.
