Abstract
In this study the researcher tries to identify the characteristics of the ambassadorial journey ,in the past this journey have been considered not only as a historical act carried out by the traveler for a diplomatic purpose,but also as a representative act to be done when the traveler documents his observations through a coding system whose mechanisms is determined by the authority of the receiver .Thus the study use narratiologyand their concepts in order to identify the characteristics of ambassadorial journey. This was demonstrated by the journey of Ibn Fadlan to Turkey, Russia and Bulgaria, but before that it is necessary to identify (to know) the journey in the Arab poetic discourse.
