Abstract

The study aimed at identifying the effect of the use of social media atthe motivation of learning and decision-making among secondary students in the city of Amman. The study sample consisted of (612) male and female. The results showed statistically significant differences in the level of motivation of learning attributed to gender in favor of females, and there were statistically significant differences in decision-making level attributed to gender in favor of males. The results indicated that there was a positive relationship between the number of use times of less than (5)hours and the motivation of learning and decision-making. There was a negative relationship between the number of times of use for more than (5)hours and the motivation of learning and decision-making. The results indicated a positive relationship between the number of social media (1-2) mediaand each of the motivation of learning and decision-making, and the existence of a negative relationship between the number of social media for more than (3) mediaand each of the motivation of learning and decision-making. The study recommends that school students be made aware of the important role of social media in motivating and decision-making and training them
