Abstract

The study aims at identifying the level of self-esteem and,the emotional innovation and the relationship between the former and the latter of the Basic Elementary School Teachers in Gaza Strip. The study also aims to identify the variance of the level of self-esteem and the emotional innovation of sample individuals due to certain variables (school type, sex and salary). To achieve such thing, the self-esteem scale and the emotional innovation scale were applied on a sample consisting of (399) male and female teachers who were chosen randomly from the study population. The researcher adopted and used descriptive analytical method for this purpose. After analyzing the data statistically, the study reached the following results: The level of self-esteem and emotional innovation were moderate, and there were no statistical significant differences between the self-esteem and emotional innovation refers to school type and sex. On the other hand, there are statistical significant differences between the self-esteem and emotional innovation refers to monthly salary. There is a high relationship between self-esteem and the emotional innovation of teachers.The study recommended sustaining and increasing the materialistic and emotional support for teachers, regular psychological check of teachers, identifying their psychological needs, availing opportunity for them to make use of psychological programs to promote their self-esteem and emotional innovation
