Abstract
The present study aimed to identify the degree to which the environmental values included in the Islamic education books for the higher elementary stage in Jordan were available. The study sample consisted of all the pages of the Islamic Education books for the ninth and tenth grades except the introduction, the list of references, lesson of recitation, lessons questions. The researcher prepared the study tool (content analysis form) containing (49) environmental value after verifying its validity and stability by scientific means, which were divided into four main fields: (environmental values related to the field of human care and contained (17) sub-values, environmental values associated with the field of care (9) environmental values, environmental values associated with the area of land care, containing (11) sub-values, environmental values associated with the field of beauty care, and (12) sub-values. The study reached the following results: The environmental values included in the books of Islamic Education for the ninth and tenth grades of the field related to humans were high and by percentage (71.17%). The field related to water and air care was low and 2.69% And the area associated with beauty care was low and by (7.88%). The distribution of environmental values is not balanced in both books, the study recommended increasing attention to the environmental values available at low levels, continuing to pay attention to the available environmental values at high levels, and setting criteria for their distribution in the curriculum of Islamic education
