Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the role of Jordanian universities in the development of political awareness among students and ways to develop it, From the perspective of students, in light of some variables, during the academic year 2017/2018. The study adopted the analytical descriptive approach, A special questionnaire was prepared (59) paragraphs, applied on a stratified sample, of (696) maleand female students, as well as individual interviews with 20 students were also used. The results showed thatThe role of universities in the development of political awareness among students is located in medium level; awareness of citizenship and democracy in the first level, awareness of the challenges of the Arab spring revolutions in the second level, awareness of the Jordanian political system in the third level. The results showed that there are no statistical significant differences (α = 0.05) depending on "National Education Course", and the Authority of University. And there are statistical differences depending on the location of the University within Geographical Region, in favor of the Universities in Southern Jordan. Notable results of interviews, review the existing educational policies, teaching and assessment methods, diversification and modernization of academic content, and create forums of political education on social networks
