Abstract
The study surveyed all the sixty-three instances where Allah's name the Wise got paired with His name the All Knowing. It defines the meaning of each name, and investigates the contexts of their pairing together, explicating contexts where the Wise precedes the All Knowing and vice-versa. It was found that Allah's name the Wise precedes the All Knowing in contexts where the following topics are discussed: building up faith by proving the oneness of Allah and rebutting all falsehood about it, highlighting the truth, and proving resurrection. On the other hand, Allah's name the All Knowing precedes the Wise in contexts where the following topics are discussed: appreciating prophet-hood, giving legislations, recommending patience, clarifying Allah's law and practice with the disbelievers, and exposing hypocrites.
