Abstract
This article aims to study the behavior of the Iranian regime in Yemen during the period of 2004-2018. It revealsthe main objectives of Iran’s intervention and examinesthe determinants of the Iranian foreign policy towards Yemen. We also comment on John balance of power in the region and resulted in a regional reaction represented by Operation DecisiveStorm. Furthermore, it is our determination that the Iranian intervention in Yemen has sought to achieve two goals: an ideological one achieved through the dissemination of theTwelverdoctrine in Yemen; the second goalis geopolitical directed at controlling Bab-el-Mandeb Strait. Iran seeks to realize these goals through its agents in Yemen, the Houthis.Mearsheimer's real-life theory of Iranian behavior in Yemen and consider the Role Theory byK. J. Holsti.
