Abstract
The study aimed at identifying the social stressors and the motivation of athletic achievement of the handball players in Palestine. The researcher used the descriptive method to ascertain the relevance of the study’s objectives. Concretizing this, the study was conducted on a random sample of 65 handball players in Palestine, and Al Ouran modified scale (Al Ouran, 2008) was used to measure the social stressors and Allawi scale (Allawi, 2004) was used for measuring the motivation of athletic achievement as a data collection tool. The results of the study found out that the social stressors of the handball players were moderate while the motivation of the athletic achievement was high. In addition, there were no statistically significant differences in the social stressors or in the motivation of athletic achievement with regard to the play experience except for stressors that have a relation with the team members. The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences with regard to the place of living variable. The researcher importantly recommends prioritizing sport guidance and counseling for the players, and preparing psychological suitable programs for them to minimize their social stressors more and more, as well as conducting other studies having the same subject of the study that discuss other variables and sports.
