Abstract

This study aims at determining and evaluating the spatial distribution patterns of the mosques in Salt city for the year 2019, it also proposes planning standards for mosques' establishment in the city, in addition to assesses the future needs of the city, moreover, it proposes the best distribution for it. Study used the descriptive method to achieve its goals, where the data was collected from key informant, primary and secondary sources, in addition to the field survey, when after, the data was being analyzed by using "Near Neighbor Analysis, and Cartographic Analysis" through "Geographic Information System (GIS)", and "Global Positioning System (GPS)". The study has concluded that the pattern of mosques' distribution in the city in is randomly, which means that most of the mosques in the city were not been established according to previously set plans. The study showed that there is lack in the number of mosques compared with the number of population and prayers in the city, moreover, the portion of one prayer from the total space and built-up area is insufficient ,The study has recommended the urgency of developing planning standards for mosques establishment in the city, and to have them distributed fairly with accordance to the number of population, and according to the recommended standards in the study to fulfill the needs of services of population in Salt City. The study also recommends the urgency of developing mosques' planning standards to be used in the different areas of the urban planning
