Abstract

This study aims to analyze development indicators in Mafraq governorate in order to assess and identity the economic and social reality of the population in this province. The study was based on the analytical descriptive approach as the appropriate method for the study. Analyzing the the available data showed that Al-Mafraq governate recorded the highest population growth rate in Jordan. Moreover, the study found that there is a clear lack of employment opportunities in the governorate due to the lack of investment projects capable of absorbing the labor force. The study recommended the necessity of achieving justice in the distribution of facilities, institutions and services, in a manner that ensures a kind of redistribution of the population among the regions of the governorate. It also recommended encouraging investment in remote areas with few developmental advantages.
