Abstract
The study aimed to identify the role of information technology in improving the administrative performance of the school principals of the schools of the Directorate of Education of Ramtha District, and the effect of the variables (gender, educational qualification, educational stage, administrative experience). The sample consisted of (70) headmasters and headmistresses. To achieve the objectives of the study, a tool was constructed to measure the variables of the study. It consisted of (53) paragraphs divided into four fields (the teacher, the student, the school environment, the local community). The descriptive approach was also used. The results of the study showed that the role of information technology in improving the administrative performance of the school principals of Ramtha District schools was high. The fields were ranked in descending order respectively (student, teacher, community, school environment). Community with high grades, and the school environment with an average grade. The results showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of (α ≤ 0.05) due to the impact of gender, scientific qualification, educational stage and management experience in all fields. In light of the results, the study recommended a number of recommendations, framing special instructions that govern the handling of information technology within the school.
